Commissioned pieces are requested on behalf of a client. It is fun and a challenge interpreting what the client has in mind, either an idea or an actual horse or animal they want to immortalise.
After the original sculpture in wax is finished and the model agreed upon, a reproduction mold is made if it will be cast into a series. Otherwise, it is directly cast into bronze by the lost wax method. casting usually takes about 3 months to complete since the process requires many steps and hours of hand labour. Marcela's involvement in each of the sculptures from creation to completion assures the quality of all her bronzes
